โณ Data Status

OP-17 is confirmed for an August 26, 2026 English release โ€” still roughly a month out as of this writing, so there's no tournament data built on it yet. The chart on the left reflects the current OP-16 tier list, which is the format everyone is actually playing right now. Once OP-17-legal events start reporting results after launch, we'll replace the placeholder on the right with real deck-type usage and win rates pulled from tournament results.

01 ยท Set Overview

OP-17: The World's Strongest Warriors

Confirmed

OP-17 is set for an English release around August 26โ€“28, 2026, positioned as Bandai's 4th anniversary booster for the One Piece Card Game. It follows the standard main-set structure: 126+1 card types across 6 Leaders, Commons, Uncommons, Rares, Super Rares, and Secret Rares, plus a Treasure Rare and a DON!! card, packaged 12 cards per pack and 24 packs per display box.

Still Settling

Coverage of the set's exact theme is inconsistent right now. Some sources describe OP-17 as centered on returning nostalgic Leaders alongside characters from the Impel Down and Marineford arcs; others frame it around the long-awaited Elbaf arc, featuring giants and characters like Loki and Hajrudin. Both threads may end up true of the same set โ€” anniversary sets often mix a nostalgia angle with new-arc content โ€” but until Bandai's full card list is public, treat the exact archetype breakdown as speculative.

02 ยท Why It Matters

Nostalgic Leaders Could Reshape Deckbuilding

Leaders define color identity and archetype support in the One Piece Card Game more than in most TCGs, so bringing back older Leaders with updated effects tends to have an outsized impact on the format compared to just adding new Character cards. If OP-17 follows through on this, expect established crews like the Straw Hats and Navy to gain fresh support, alongside brand-new color pairings built around whichever Leaders get reprinted.

The anniversary framing also means OP-17 is likely to ship with a heavier-than-usual concentration of alternate art and Secret Rare treatments, which historically correlates with strong early singles demand even before competitive results come in.

03 ยท The Format Right Now

OP-16's Diamond Meta

Purple Enel currently leads the EN metagame by a wide margin, built around DON!! ramp that can put 14,000 power onto a single character as early as turn 2 โ€” a threat most removal in the format can't answer cleanly.

The rest of the top tier forms a genuine rock-paper-scissors shape: Black/Yellow Marshall.D.Teach beats Nami, Nami beats Enel, Enel beats Green/Blue Luffy, and Luffy beats Teach. That kind of closed loop is a healthy sign for a format โ€” no single deck is unbeatable, but each of the top four has a clear, favorable matchup and a clear bad one.

04 ยท Full Tier List

Every OP-16 Leader, Ranked

S Tier โ€” Format Defining
Green/Blue Monkey.D.Luffy
Impel Down tempo deck built around a two-pool attack plan. The clear breakout performer of the format โ€” player understanding of the two-pool mechanic kept improving all month, and the win rate climbed with it.
65.0% win rate

Purple Enel
Locked to a 6-card DON!! pile, but ramps 4 DON!! onto one Character in a single activation โ€” a 14,000-power threat by turn 2 that most removal in the format can't cleanly answer.
64.6% win rate

Black/Yellow Marshall.D.Teach
Control-leaning redirect Leader โ€” trash a Trigger card to send an incoming attack onto himself or a chosen Blackbeard Pirates Character, then grind with Black/Yellow's removal and card advantage tools.
61.5% win rate

A Tier โ€” Highly Competitive
Blue/Yellow Nami
A draw-engine deck entirely dependent on keeping Zeus alive โ€” every card drawn off Life removal snowballs into more resources. Was the format's win-rate leader in mid-June before Enel and Teach were specifically built to interrupt her.
56.5% win rate

B Tier โ€” Solid, Playable
Black Yamato
Land of Wano trash-recursion deck โ€” fill the trash with Wano Characters, then replay them with Rush for surprise pressure. A complex pilot's deck that rewards reps; results improved noticeably as players got more games in.
Above-average, pilot-dependent

Red Ace
Whitebeard Pirates burn-aggro โ€” gives Rush to 8000+ power Characters and races the opponent's Life total. A strong early-format threat that cooled to B-tier as the field adjusted to it.
Cooled from early S-tier

Purple Sengoku
High-cost Navy ramp deck built around uniting the Three Admirals, including Akainu. The hardest leader to pilot in the set and the most expensive to build, but rewards skilled players despite lower overall meta share.

Rogue / C Tier โ€” Niche Picks
Blue Buggy
Impel Down swarm deck sharing part of its Character pool with Luffy. Frequently called the format's most underrated deck by content creators โ€” inconsistent at the very top tables, but capable of real upsets.

Because One Piece TCG doesn't rotate โ€” every set from OP-01 onward stays Standard-legal โ€” the Rogue tier is genuinely large: roughly 30 older leaders remain playable and occasionally place, even if none are currently favored at the top tables.
05 ยท What to Watch For

OP-17 Launch Weekend

  • Whether any reprinted Leader immediately challenges Purple Enel's DON!! ramp plan, or whether the top of the format stays the same with OP-17 cards slotting in as support
  • Early community reaction to Elbaf-themed cards, if the giant-tribal angle turns out to be real โ€” new tribal synergies tend to take a few weeks to get properly tuned
  • Secondary market movement on OP-16 staples, since a genuine Leader shakeup usually drags key support pieces up or down in price within the first week
06 ยท Format Health

What's Working, What to Watch

What's Healthy

  • The top of the format is a genuine cycle rather than one deck beating everything โ€” Teach, Nami, Enel, and Luffy each have a clear answer and a clear weakness
  • No single Leader is running away with more than half the meta share on its own

What's Concerning

  • Purple Enel's turn-2 DON!! ramp plan can be hard for slower decks to interact with before it snowballs
  • A month-out set announcement always creates a "hold your build" period โ€” some players will sit out local events waiting to see what OP-17 does to the format
