30th Celebration โ The First Worldwide Simultaneous Launch
Thirty years after the Pokรฉmon TCG debuted in Japan in October 1996, 30th Celebration arrives as the anniversary set โ and it breaks a pattern that has held for the game's entire history. This is the first Pokรฉmon TCG set to launch in every region on the same day, ending the usual months-long wait between the Japanese and international releases.
Every single card in the set is foil, including Basic Energy โ there are no non-foil cards at all. Packs contain six cards (five foil cards plus one foil Basic Energy), and each one is guaranteed to include one of 30 unique Pikachu cards, every one illustrated by a different artist.
The set also debuts a brand-new rarity: Futuristic Rare, illustrated by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN, with vivid colors, dramatic lighting, and 3D Energy and Pokรฉ Ball elements worked into the artwork. Mewtwo ex and Mew ex were the first two revealed, joined by day-and-night Pikachu ex printings. Rounding it out is a Classic Collection of 30 reprints spanning Base Set to the modern era, each with a sparkling golden border.
Standard Rotation Reshaped the Meta
Regulation Mark G rotated out โ March 26 on Pokรฉmon TCG Live, April 10 for in-person play. That removed the first full year of Scarlet & Violet, taking Pokรฉmon V, Radiant Pokรฉmon, and Lost Zone engines with it. Marks H, I, J and later remain legal. Legality follows the mark printed on the card, not the set it came from.
Delta Reign Brings Mega Rayquaza ex
The sixth Mega Evolution set โ the English version of Japan's Storm Emeralda โ is headlined by Mega Rayquaza ex. It follows 30th Celebration as the next main expansion, continuing the Mega Evolution era that has defined the 2026 card pool.
Championship Point Awards Updated
Play! Pokรฉmon revised Championship Point awards and Best Finish Limits to give more points to lower-finishing competitors at Regionals and Internationals. Pokรฉmon UNITE is no longer part of the Championship Series.
The Anniversary Product Wave Rolls On
30th Celebration products release in waves from September into December โ Elite Trainer Boxes, blisters, and a Pokรฉmon Center exclusive ETB with 11 packs instead of the usual nine, plus two full-art Nidorina promos.
